There is no suitable area for nesting within the house (or at least there was none last year when I asked a frequent zoo visitor). They have a large outdore enclosure during the spring-autumn, where they tried repeatedly to build nests, but without any offspring so far. Just for nfo - there are something like 70 lesser flamingos within this flock.
The exhibit could look a little different know, because they had a fire a few weeks ago that destroyed also parts of the pachyderm house (where these flamimgos kept in).
The pachyderm house went through a general rebuilding in 1989, when this part for flamingos was also newly created. I think that they´ve been keeping lesser flamingos here since then, but I´m not sure.
