I noticed the tears in his jacket well before he pulled the Monitor out ... it was obvious where they came from when he had to forcibly remove it from his back several times - complete with ripping sound from the claws digging in.
Several times during the presentation, he seemed to get a little uncomfortable when the Monitor started clawing at his neck and ear. I'm sure it would have been a bit painful!
I saw the jacket too and thought "Why doesn't he get a new one?" It detracts somewhat from the presentation. After he pulled out the monitor it all made sense.
