Brown Dipper (Cinclus pallasii) swimming

Dippers are fun to watch. They look like thrushes but they swim around on the surface of the water like half-submerged ducks, sometimes with the head up looking about for danger but otherwise with the head under the surface looking for insects on the stream-bed. When they see something they like, they dive to the bottom and grab it, then fly off to a rock to eat it.
 
@Chlidonias Very like the European one, which is blackish with a white breast. If you see them from above when underwater they looks silver-coloured as the air bubbles are caught in their feathers. Amazing birds.
