A species with a false ID ever since their first arrival into the ornamental trade in 1935, this Cory-cat is widely sold as "Corydoras punctatus," now Hoplisoma punctatum, which actually VASTLY DIFFERENT from this animal!
These "false punctatus" are now believed to be related to Brochis agassizii, and hopefully will receive proper taxonomic revision soon, unless they already have been and I am simply unaware.
