@Great Argus They are common in bushland however they are hard to find as they have no web and tend to hide under leaves. This was my lifer one; I'd never manage to see one so was thrilled. A gummy-like quality in the flesh.
@Great Argus Arkys are pretty common (depending on the species, ones local to Melbourne are A.walckenaeri, the one pictured is A.lanceolatus) but fairly cryptic, I find that they are a lot easier to spot at night when their colour stands out more. There’s a very rare species with a wide distribution (Tas, Vic, NSW, QLD) only known from about 10 or so specimens called Arkys enigma that I’m always on the lookout for
