Another sad reminder what Homo sapiens has "achieved" till now and how in that short timespan human-induced impacts have put our One Healthy Planet at risk and the Sixth Extinction Crisis in front of us.
It would have been great to have this canid species still around ...., but alas the Falkland Islands Wolves are no more..... Even so, it is good the Big Apple Zoo highlights this with their statues...
@Kifaru Bwana The area where this was is now the site of their new Budgie aviary... I do hope they relocate this display elsewhere in the zoo as it is a nice, if not sad touch. The zoo also has a room dedicated to extinct bird species in World of Birds.
