@Austin the Sengi Visitors can meet the cubs daily from 10.45am to 11.45am; and then again from 3.15pm to 4.15pm. Visitors line up outside the nursery where they’re briefed on how to interact with the cubs; and then let in in small groups (approximately five people) to meet them. My group got around five minutes with the cubs. The cubs are returned to the mother at the end of the session, who is by all accounts, raising them well. The cubs are in time introduced to the main pride, with visitor contact sessions ceasing fully by around 12 months (they’ve previously put a mesh barrier up at around 6 months to enable protected contact; but not full contact due to the size of the cubs). I was personally really impressed with how efficiently the staff ran the process and their obvious concern for the cub’s welfare. The cubs were relaxed the whole time and clearly found the experience stimulating. The cub pictured was obsessed with my shoe!
