Hokkaido Sika Deer (Cervus nippon yesoensis)

Rausu (Hokkaido), February 2025. The photo was taken at dusk so I had to lighten it up, which is why the colours look off.
It's crazy to think that the Yaku sika deer and Hokkaido sika deer are the same species, but then again, wolves and Chihuahuas are technically the same species too, so I guess it makes sense.
