Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus)

Regarding this individual, this is (0.1) Pepper, who is the zoo’s only remaining cheetah.

As of my latest visit, she effectively lives in retirement in what used to be the temporary lion exhibit; which itself is located in the Wild Florida section of the zoo.

I was recently informed that Pepper has since passed away, which makes the brief time I spent observing her all the more sentimental.

With this in mind, and in Pepper’s memory; may she rest in peace:
