Indianapolis Zoo - African Wild Dog Exhibit

Almost all of the African exhibits at the Indy zoo are above average, and if only the zoo was larger it might attract more of a following as there are some very innovative habitats there.
 
@evalynwrites If you look at this 2008 map that I uploaded, you can see that the African Wild Dogs were located directly across from the Guinea Baboons on the far left-hand side of the map.

When I returned to the zoo in 2012, the African Wild Dogs were still there and this map is slightly more detailed.

In November 2012, a young boy was tragically killed when he fell into the African Wild Dog exhibit at Pittsburgh Zoo. Several U.S. zoos phased out the species after that, but that might not be the reason why Indy got rid of the species.

I did hear about the Pittsburgh Zoo incident. Very sad.

I think African Wild Dogs are such an interesting species though -- wish I could remember when we had them but I was just a kid.

So, looks like Tembo Camp possibly replaced the exhibit?
