@Cat-Man I'm not aware of this aquarium having a bad history of penguins. I actually haven't been down to the aquarium since they got penguins, so have not seen the exhibit. I think some people were disgruntled that they turned the sea turtle space into a penguin exhibit...maybe that is what you are referring to?
Alternatively you may be thinking of the LA Zoo's penguin disaster where there was a mass penguin death event (some kind of disease I think) in the 1990s. The LA Zoo has not had penguins for 30 years as a result of that.
