Man, I wish Indonesians are as interested and excited with small mammal/nocturnal houses as the Japanese lol.
I don't think I ever see so many people within one indoor exhibit. Won't the animals get stressed? Do they get a lot of privacy or their enclosures lacks that?
@Rizz Carlton most of the enclosures here lack privacy for the animals, and for those that do its simply a small wooden or mock-rock box. And yes, the animals are stressed, the majority were stereotyping pretty badly (although I don't know how much of that can be attributed to lack of privacy, as opposed to small exhibit sizes and lack of enrichment). It's such a shame, the Small Mammal House could have been such a highlight of the zoo if its animals were given decent living conditions.
@Rizz Carlton@DaLilFishie I was there on a Friday and it was steady but not busy. Nothing like this picture. And surprisingly most visitors were quiet and respectful of the animals. But a lot of animals were stereotyping nevertheless so it isn't the amount of people at once, it is the dreadful conditions most of them are kept in.
