I take it that the three species rotate? Which one inhabited this enclosure on your visit, as it seems so perfectly suited to Snow Leopards that I don't understand why they felt the need to build a rotational setup.
Yes, the siberian tigers, asiatic lions, and snow leopards now rotate. There were the snow leopards in the enclosure on one visit and a tiger on the other. I assume that from a behavioral and enrichment pov the rotation concept is a big improvement for the cats. Even before there was a small 'rotational' usage in place with the wolves occasionally visiting the tiger enclosure as enrichment for both species (due to scent marking). Furthermore many of the new enclosures of the 2050 masterplan will include rotational concepts.
