This zoo obtained two cassowary chicks recently. I dont know from where, they are not EAZA member and cassowaries are not kept/bred privately around here so I think it must be an import (the owner imports regularly birds from Asia and keeps privately among others also birds-of-paradise). The other chick looks to me like ordinary southern cassowary, but this one has more red skin on its neck so no idea if it´s also a southern. Probably is, but I´m just unsure.
BTW: The ZTL entry for southern cassowary was done my me based on that second chick visual ID.
