@Coelacanth18 If they cleared out some of the surrounding old exhibits, do you think that they have enough room to build a modern tiger exhibit in this zoo? That was in a previous master plan. With a new director I wonder if the tiger will be going, or getting a modern exhibit, if the zoo could ever afford one. It is one of their main attractions.
@DavidBrown Good question. It's hard to see how they could, without either wiping out several smaller species and exhibits or expanding further into the park - which I believe was also on the table at one point.
If I were in charge, I'd just take the L, ship out the tiger and renovate the space for a new Asian draw species. Combining the footprint of the tiger and binturong exhibits with the old barn area across from them would make a great habitat for a smaller "big cat", some kind of leopard maybe; alternatively the tiger-binturong space alone could be furnished into a very nice exhibit for gibbons, hornbills, Komodo dragon... but then again many people love tigers more than I do, so it's hard to argue any of those are suitable replacements I guess.
