@Austin the Sengi It is a great concept, but unfortunately the exhibit isn't too big and quite exposed. This is, in my opinion, true for a lot of Blijdorp's exhibits. Great concepts, mediocre execution
The okapi indoor housing at Blijdorp is in my opinion fairly decent and amongst the better and most forest-like I have seen, but the outdoor exhibits are on the small side and the birds lack a large zone that they have to themselves. The outdoor exhibits for the okapis at Rotterdam are in my opinion far more problematic than the indoor housing though.
The idea of putting okapi indoor exhibits in a tropical greenhouse is not a bad idea
I am, as is probably known on ZooChat by now, a big fan of ungulate and bird mixed aviaries, but in my opinion the one at Blijdorp is not exactly the best executed - and this exhibit replaced a set of European (Dutch meadow and Mediterranean/migratory bird) aviaries that were much better (in fact one of my favorite exhibits that sadly no longer exist) and also underrepresented and important habitats with good stories to tell for European zoos. Blijdorp did not in my opinion make a good choice there. Unfortunately not something they have done only once.
