Still housing some birds, labeled for Black-headed ibis, Mandarin duck, Philippine duck, Fulvous whistling duck and Asian woolly-necked stork, I also saw a juvenile white-naped crane in there. Demolition of this aviary for an expansion of the Asian elephant facility is planned.

While it is a shame that this aviary has bitten the dust. I am also hopeful that the expansion of the zoo’s elephant yard/s will be a worthy replacement.
