Sumatran clouded leopard (Neofelis diardi diardi)

An very hard to photograph and even seen individual, as it always hide in the cave at the very back of the exhibit. This is one of the rare moments as itpoke his head out.

In 2020, the zoo received an male named Captain (Born 2015) from the Cikananga Wildlife Centre, which originated from a confiscation from a illegal private collection. Additional Sumatran clouded leopards were acquired from Bukit Kinantan Zoo in West Sumatra in the same year. From 2020 until around 2024-25, Captain was the leopard on-display, which are shown to be more active. The leopard pictured here likely to be one of the leopards from Bukit Kinantan.
