Lesser Bornean Crested Fireback (Lophura ignita ignita)

1.1 in the White-crowned Hornbill cage at Winged Sanctuary

@FoxBat There is no Bornean crested fireback in any of the Winged Sanctuary aviaries. The pair in the White-crowned hornbill aviary is listed as Malay Crested Fireback and keepers hav stated as such in their headcounts.

@Nadchew_ Borneans have orange bellies and tails and have no white streaks on the breast, meaning that this is indeed a Bornean instead of a Malayan

@Nadchew_ @FoxBat this is indeed a Bornean - the Malayans have white tails, white streaks on the breast etc, so are very easily distinguishable. However the Bornean was formerly lumped with the Malayan, so this is no doubt a case of the collection using "outdated" taxonomy.

@FoxBat Thanks for the correction. I am not the most educated on the firebacks and it seems that the keepers themselves also may not hav identified them correctly yet
