I disagree with H. melanurus, the operculum markings are different (not forming the 'ear' loop, typically containing a yellow teardrop marking in the centre of the loop). This fish looks better for Halichoeres cosmetus in my opinion (3 green saddles on the rear body, black blotch behind the eye)
