Suprised to see a non-brazilian zoochat member posting pictures about Sorocaba! What did you thought about the zoo, and did you visit other zoos here?

@Velas I think Brazil is a dream destination for zoolovers. I visited more zoos, yes. I loved Sorocaba and spent the whole day there. The Tropical Landscape, Monkey Islands and the excellent Mammal collection make it for one of my favourite zoos in your country. The round houses, lush vegetation and list of rarities reminded me of LA Zoo

@twilighter Good to see! Sorocaba is indeed a very nice zoo, specially in regards of the native species (and rarities) kept there, even though there are some not present there anymore (like their huge Black caiman and the Marsh deers, who were off-show last time I checked).

Happy to see that you enjoyed your trip here! Brazil might not have that many world class zoos and exhibits that Europe and the U.S. have, but the ones we have are (slowly, but surely) trying and working their way there. Excited to see which other ones did you visit!

@Velas I indeed had great time at Brazil and some of the zoo exhibits can easily compete with the one in Europe or North America.

I was lucky to see the dream Marsh Deer - one of the most majestic deer and my favourite animal in Brazil, if not in South America.
