Based on some earlier plans, it’s for a bear species (most likely sun bears) and binturongs. However in a later document (2020) lion-tailed macaque are mentioned. I have absolutely no idea why they made this very deep and steep pool, it just makes the already limited amount of space even smaller, plus this exhibit is surrounded by walls in all directions so the pool doesn’t even function as a water moat. I am not surprised though, as the whole project is lacking a bit of quality and planning unfortunately.
