There is a high possibility that pure-bred Cuban crocodile in the wild are becoming extinct, as they may be interbreeding with American crocodile. (it is unclear whether Cuban crocodile in European zoos are pure-bred or hybrids)
@captain alligator Interesting, I never knew there was such a tiny strain of pure-bred Cuban’s left in the wild. Paignton houses just a single female, which I assume is pure bred. Hopefully the zoo will be able to bring a male into the collection to try and breed the species.
