ID? Monitor

Located in the reptile house. I have “peach necked monitor” written on my species list but that species seems to be very rare in zoos and doesn’t seem to visually match these individuals, but I’m admittedly bad with reptiles.
Definitely not a Peach-throated monitor. I'm almost sure that this is an Nile monitor, as this individual has a more "oval" shaped snout, in comparison to the elongated and pointier snout of the Asian water monitor. The patterns and coloration of this animal also remind me of some morphs I have seen in other Nile monitors, and doesn't look as bulky as an Asian water monitor would.

@Velas Yeah, at the top of the neck, there are a few yellow bands that sorta wrap around to the other side like a headband. That's something I've seen a lot in Nile monitors, but never seen in an Asian water monitor. And the snout is very on par for many African and Middle Eastern species of monitors vs the pointier snouts of Australasian monitors

Welp, that would be a neat new lifer then. Thanks everyone!

I hope someone else visits this zoo soon and figures out what’s up with the peach-throated monitor sign, though. I know there’s a sign that says it, it’s not a species I was familiar with beforehand so it’s not like I poorly IDed something myself, but I really thought this picture went with that sign. Maybe I just didn’t take a picture of the supposed peach-throats, then.
