Parker's snake-necked turtle (Chelodina parkeri)

Adult individual, a very dark species.

Younger chelodina parkeri have a much lighter, pale head.
 
@Rizz Carlton This one was a pain to take a picture of. Not only because of the water reflection, but also because of the tilapias in its exhibit.
 
@Fargusno what does the tilapias have to do with that? they're a small group of younglings that are barely even visible sometimes :p

I was lucky that this individual was sleeping on top of the rocks at the edge, so it was much more visible.
 
@Fargusno but not the cause of the turtles being a pain to take picture and see, right? :p

The dark coloration of the turtle and how the pond was designed is what I think makes them difficult to see, you just have to be lucky to be able to see it clearly.
