A pair of these held by the park by the time I visited last month on August. Known locally in some parts of their range as angkis kelabi, this species are found in Sumatra, Borneo, and western parts of the Malay Peninsula.
While it's thrilling to see and photograph such a rarity, one have need to consider the very unfortunate living conditions of this pair and a handful of others in this park, obviously seen in the picture that this porcupines lives in a concrete enclosure with just a coupe of hiding spots. Not to mention how they acquired this species and some others.
