@MikeG, It is ... Lazy Taxonomy. If you look at the recent re-arrangement of several bird of paradise species in Papua / PNG and go by way of how this has panned out into an E-W and N-S Arc division across the entire island ... than taxonomy and cladistics really need a run down on all the cassowary species across the entire range. This goes for all, ... northern, southern and dwarf cassowaries too!
