Very nice photos of Buin @twilighter! If you managed to spot the Sitatungas and Pigmy hippos, as well as their Snow leopards and Bongos, could you tell me how many there were? I've been wanting to track their exact numbers but Buin doesn't show their animals very ofter on their socials.
@Velas Thank you! I don't remember clearly, because those were not target species for me, but I saw at least :
- 1 male and 1 female Sitatunga.
- 2 Pygmy Hippos
- 1 Snow Leopard
I haven't seen any Bongos, but I saw at least 5 animals at private zoo in Santiago, which holds one of biggest collections of Antelopes in South America.
@twilighter Thanks for the answers! Good to see that the Sitatunga group is all complete and that there are two pigmy hippos there. Weird that you didn't see the Bongos, maybe they were hiding (there's supposed to be 1.1), and I wonder if Buin still didn't pair their male and female Snow leopards.
But either way, good to see that you managed to spot them in this other zoo in Santiago
