Sep. 2025 - Expedition Africa - Savanna Panorama

On the day of my visit, this spacious savanna contained the following species:

• Common Eland
• Common Ostrich
• “Reticulated” Giraffe (Giraffa sp.)
• Nile Lechwe

I think you saw them all! I believe there are six or seven Giraffes, three female Ostriches, two Common Eland, and 1.3 Nile Lechwe in this exhibit. The Ostriches and antelope have access to the forested yard to the east of this open area, but the Giraffes can't get in there (which I'm sure is a benefit for the trees!).

@Summer Tanager I certainly would’ve, save for that baby giraffe that was born not too long after my visit!
