Thank you again for listing the species in this aviary! This is another interesting mix of species! We don't have any Black-faced Spoonbills in the U.S. and no more than one zoo that houses Wooly-necked Storks!
@Summer Tanager Zlín imported the spoonbills from Ueno last year. I guess it somehow helps they are affiliate members of SEAZA.
The storks aren't exactly common in Europe either, but there's still enough facilities that have them I'd say.
That's good to know! It makes sense that the spoonbills came from Japan - I didn't think about that possibility! I really like both the African and Asian Wooly-necked Storks and it's a shame that they are essentially gone from the U.S., and it sounds like they're uncommon in the EU as well!
