The bovine house was built in 1908-1909 under then resident zoo architect Emile Thielens. It has now been beautifully renovated and contains indoor areas for the rhinos as well as for ungulates like the zebras.

@Cyathea I don't know to what extent this is still the case, but historically the attic was used for storage of hay, straw and grain feeds.
