Goliath Tigerfish (Hydrocynus goliath)

19/11/2024
This photo commemorates one of my favourite fish in River Wonders. The Goliath Tigerfish was always an imposing individual to observe in his enclosure, especially with his blind left eye making him look like some battle scarred king.

He would always be one of the fish that actively captured the attention of the guests when most would typically gloss over many of the others before him. A true River Monster that I'm sure made his mark to many people.

While it isn't a true "star child" of River Wonders, like our Capybaras, Manatees or even our Mekong Giants, I am sure many of us will dearly miss our sole remaining Goliath Tigerfish in the Congo River.
