Hystrix cristatus or H. africaeaustralis? - Ueno Zoo

signed as H. cristatus, but would like a second opinion as I've heard these species are frequently confused.
@Chlidonias I ended up emailing Ueno about this animal and they sent me an image of this porcupine's rump - there is a small white stripe so clearly at least some africaeaustralis genes in this animal. Ueno also mentioned they are conducting genetic analysis to confirm the species identity. Is hybridisation possible, and if so can it be confirmed or ruled out by morphology alone? As far as I know Ueno only has one porcupine so my image and the one they sent me will be of the same individual.
