I'm educated guessing on the exact type of Pampas Cat here. Back then they weren't split so this was simply labeled as Pampas Cat. But I do know the origin of the animal was Paraguay according to Zims.
@Summer Tanager Thank you! A quick check on ZTL for any of the Pampas Cats mentions St. Louis in 1979 and both San Diego & D.C. in 1960. No others. So actually someone should add Cincinnati!
@Giant Eland Then this is doubly-good documentation! I think it's going to take a while to populate the database for the "formerly held" species in the zoo collections outside of Europe. That's something that we American should try to do while we can still remember the collections of the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and 90s at our home zoos.
