This species appears to be what most blue-eyes labelled "Pseudomugil paskai" actually are. True P. paskai appears to be quite rare, being listed as critically endangered by IUCN and all, and found in inner parts of New Guinea in the Fly River. This species are found in swamps in West Papua near the city of Timika.
@Rizz Carlton you are right - almost everything in the trade sold as "paskai" are P. luminatus.
P. luminatus comes in thee forms - usually a yellow one, and a red one. The red one is what was thought to be exceptionally colourful P. paskai, and a Blue one, which is the closest looking to the true Paska's.
