Coati enclosure

@Eagle
Hybrid lions are doing the same, stealing room for endangered lion subspecies.... many zoos breed zoo lions again and again, so Basel zoo had to kill their last rare lion cubs....

@chizlit
Frankfurt is going to build a new enclosure for spectacled bears and coatis and will give up keeping sloth bears (0,2) and Malayian sun bears (1,1).

Bochum Tierpark keeps two old Indochine leopards and will replace them in the future by squirrel monkeys and coatis...

The are keeping squirrel monkeys for now, and their cage is absolutely sufficient.
They could use the space for other species which need it more, and the current enclosure is perfect for breeding big cats especially leopards, clouded leopards or cougars.
Björn: You know that I prefer desert lions more than zoolions ;)

The bears and leopards may have been sent to other zoos for breeding purposes.

The bear enclosure was to small, they said that on their homepage.
In europe 2 zoos keep Indo-chinese leopards, all individuals in captivity are very old and so the zoo waits for their death.
The point is that I don't understand why they don't buy new leopards when the current animals are dead.
Squirrel monkeys are a weak replacement.
