That's what I though too! But tell me "Charly" is every zoo that has a few bad exhibits to be considered a bad zoo? In that case you will hardly find any good zoos anywhere in the world as all zoos (unfortunately) have some baggage.
Yes, Hagenbeck has some poor exhibits for the lions, ring-tailed lemurs and giant tortoises. But they also have some great ones for orangutans, coatis, leopards, mandrills, macaws and muntjaks as well as many above-average exhibits. I do not agree with their way of keeping elephants either but that is not enough for me to condemn the whole zoo.
And do you think that you are the only one here with professional knowledge? I am not yet a zookeeper but that does not mean that I am completely blind of such things (and neither are many other members of the forumm, such as Animals and Ash).
