When I visited Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo back in 1996, they had a walk-through Bald Eagle aviary. I'm sure it must still be there, it was rather state-of-the-art even then. I had never been in the same environment with birds of prey, excepting an aviary in Los Angeles, where there was an elderly Golden Eagle with a permanently injured wing. Prior to this, that particular eagle had lived at the San Francisco Zoo for many years.
My nearest zoo, the Kyabram Fauna Park has walk-through aviaries for four types of native owls. Barking owl, barn owl, boobook owl and tawny frogmouth (which really makes it three owls and one nightjar. )
