Hagenbeck 1995 - Dolphin and Sea Lion Show

I saw the show in 1991 and 1995 and I think it was abolished later that year. Once they even had an Orca from my native Iceland in this tiny pool.

There were also offshow-pools, but also not big. There were plans for a outdoorpool and all, but animal-rights-activists were too much against the keeping of dolfins. So, after the death of one of the animals, they closed the dolfinarium for good.

Would you happen to have any information about the Orca?

She was only leased from a japanese aquarium. She went back there, later she went to USA, I think she breed there and died few years back. She was namend 'Orca', renamed to 'Ruka' at the US.

Cheers; I only knew she was from Iceland originally. Is she the only killer whale to have been in Germany?

I guess she was the only one.
