Construction of the new Eismeer at Hagenbeck, Hamburg

It says on their website says eismeer opens in spring 2012. Is that the entire exhibit or only a few parts ?

As fa as I know, it is for the whole complex, but I'm curious indeed, if they will have walsusses until this date.The first animals have moved in now, but no walrusses. But I'm sure, Hagenbeck will get them.

Around early april the whole thing will open.

thats great i have a week vacation the first week of may. Hope there will be walrusses (with tusks)

Most walrussses in zoos do not have tusks, the female at Hagenbeck was one of the few exceptions, so I think, hopes for walrussses with tusk are small. And if Hagenbeck will get new walrusses, I could imagine they will import young ones.

The question is, is this Import of walrusses really necessary ?

Planned... Yes. But not sure if they can do it before may.
