I love the way this shows that it is possible to build indoor enclosures for big cats using lots of glass that lets the natural light in. Evidently, a big cat house does not have to be like a fortress or a bunker! Nice!!!
Brillant ? Thats not what I would call this "exhibit" Its to small, I've ssen four lion sin it, and whats amazing, the seperate cage is too small for the lions, and the only way from the keepers gangway into the inside cage is through the seperate cage,Ha,Ha. Thats not good, if the lions are in there, so the keeprs can enter the inside cage only through the sliders door from the outdoor exhibit,Ha,Ha,Ha.
Sad to hear this testimony of yours, Zebraduiker. (If you have gotten to know me by now, you will know that I am one of the most sensitive forumsters as far as animal welfare at zoos are concerned.) But then again, I have gained a lot of respect for Toddy´s judgements on these matters.
So which one of you is right concerning this exhibit? Comments from both of you, please?
Too much fake pipe in the air, too much fake cement on the ground, and way too small to ever be a top quality exhibit. Hopefully the outdoor yard is a hell of a lot better than what is shown in this photo. The indoor area is indeed light due to the glass windows, but all of the plants in the photo are either fake or outdoors.
Came too Sweden and see "our" big cat indoor exbiths! Are sweden still in the 1900??? Yes i think so. Sweden Zoos are not good too make great in door exbith, not fore big cats , not fore elephants, not fore monkeys , not fore any animal! I would love too see this indoor exbith in Sweden. Sweden Zoos are very good on out door exbith, but dont indoor. They are dark, and like small, small prisons, but this lion in door exbith is light , and I think its very mutch bigger!
Rillekolmard: I can understand what you're saying, but it's still not a great exhibit, i first thought it looked very good, but i've definately changed my mind, it's small, and not very good. A tip: check some more pictures, and you will see that the Swedish indoor exhibits aren't that good either.
I dont found some photos here, ore on google. Just 2 photos on the lions. On google I found a photo on the out door exbith. Its one of the worst I never seen! The good is, its no fence , its water a round the exbith. But Its very small!The hause are like a circus tent ore something....
