Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) at Tierpark Hellabrunn - April 9th 2015

The Glossy Ibis is a species which - thanks to a vagrant individual which used to visit the North of England relatively often - I have been fortunate enough to view in the wild; however, it is nonetheless always a pleasure to see this taxon in a captive collection. I am particularly pleased with how this photograph turned out.

Annoyingly some portrait shots have uploaded correctly whilst others have not..... however, clicking on the image causes it to display correctly.

Aha! The glossy ibis with the polished wing feathers that fooled us in the species quiz - and now it's trying to fool us again by rotating to the horizontal :)
