Judging from this nasty, concrete and bars type of exhibit I'd say that it's pretty damn fortunate that there aren't any bears languishing in this German animal prison. That is one ugly cage!
As said unter the other photo, most the animals where rescued from circuses or just left there...
The bear-cage dont look great, but is not small, in front there is sand (and busches), in the back a hill with a pool on top. Here lives still the bear 'Bruno'. The last Wolf pased away 2005. The tigers moved latly to another animal-refugee, they were also rescued from a french circus.
All animals at the park can go inside whenever they want (not as all the big zoos where the animals have to be outdoors and looked at), so often you cant see the leopard or the bear.
The bear enclosure is far from being the worst thing at this zoo, unfortunately. Interesting what you say about the wolf, Animal, as they were definitely still labelling wolves in 2007. Have they brought more in or did they just not want to admit they weren't there any more?
