Proboscis Monkey - Stuttgart - 1980's

It was sent to New York (Bronx) Zoo.

On one of my trips to Stuttgart I saw a proboscis monkey in the zoo one day; when I returned to the zoo the following day, it was no longer on show and a keeper told me it had been sent to New York.

I believe that was last specimen in Europe until the recent arrivals at Apeldoorn.

The Bronx's last two were sent to the Singapore Zoo and replaced with Javan Langurs.
