The polar bear exhibit in Zoo am Meer, Bremerhaven. Germany. Quite a nice exhibit with lots of water to swim in as well and gravel and dirt to dig in.

What a strange but interesting zoo. It's website shows it's primarily an aquarium/marine mammal facility, but also has a major chimp exhibit. Does anyone know more about this place?
The germans here will probably be able to tell you more, but I do know something.
This small zoo located by the sea opened in 1912. The whole zoo was completely renovated between 2001 and 2004, so everything is new. The main focus is marine animals, combined with a few American and African ones.
I found a very nice zoo, but one of the smallest I have ever seen. That's why they don't hold a lot of species. All of the marine animals have large pools and nice exhibits.
Hope this helps a little
Interesting that the zoo is right by the sea, which reminds me of the Point Defiance Zoo just south of Seattle. Also, the polar bear exhibit here actually appears to be of above average quality.
The leading party wanted to keep the chimps for no good reason. I think they'll just liked them. I think its silly! I could imagine a bigger cougar-enclosure there and lynx in the actual enclosure.
