Thank you for the compliments! I am not sure why Crab-eating raccoons are not in any US zoo (or more European zoos). They are not endangered and available from certain dealers. They could be an interesting addition to one of the many South American exhibits and I think they look different enough, e.g. when compared to the common raccoon. They could be a good alternative to the ever present Coati.
they are kept in Epe(dierenpark de Wissel) and Zooparc Overloon(bestzoo doesn't keep this species anymore), both Netherlands, and I believe Usti(Czech Republic) also keeps them.
