Duisburg Zoo - Amazonian river dolphin

The last Amazonian river dolphin, or Boto, in captivity lives in Duisburg Zoo, in the brand new (2005) tropical house Rio Negro. This fellow is actually quite curious, and can be lured over to the glass by waving an arm in front of it.

Thanks! I really enjoyed watching the river dolphin, and sat by it's tank for more than an hour during my visit to Duisburg.

there is one other facility which keeps botos in captivity - it is in Venezuela, I think

Woxys is right about Venezuela, I have heard about breeding facility in South America too..

I have forgot to add the name of this facility, Valencia in Venezuela, west from Caracas, J.V. Seijas Aquarium.
