I didn't know there were any river dolphins in captivity. Very cool!

This is the very last one in Duisburg and he is already quite old. There is in Venezuela a aquarium with this animals(Valencia).

Does the enclosure feature a place where the Dolphins can rest?

A shallow bank, like in the wild? I heard that when they were kept in 'traditional' dolphins pools (bathtubs, as some people called them) the dolphins often slowly died of sleep deprivation, as they don't sleep in the same way that marine dolphins do

This must be one of the oldest river-dolphins ever, so I guess he manages.

There might be one, I am not sure. But in the old pool certainly not.

I think there is a fair amount of off exhibit area that may contain a rest area.

Thankyou for the info! Hopefully Duisburg will be able to source replacements for this magnificent beast when he passes, even though it seems unlikely.
