This was the last zebraduiker, born in 1985. Because it was impossible to get a male for this female, they send it to L.A in 1988. Frankfurt was the only zoo in europe who has kept this species after the second world war. There was just one another zoo in europe with zebraduikers, this was the old Hamburg Zoo, which was closed in 1931. This zoo imported two zebraduikers in 1903 ( the first zebraduikers in a zoo ), but both animals died the same year.
