Guidebook 1934

The first guidebook after a long time, the guidebook was replaced by a zoo magazine between 1920 and 1934.

This guidebook was the last one, which was published by Kurt Primel, Director of the zoo between 1908 and 1938. No other man was longer zoo director in Frankfurt after him.

There is a nice story to this guidebook. The nazis have forbidden the word"Zoo"in germany, because its no a german word, so it had to dissapper, so the Frankfurt zoo was called now"Tiergarten", but unfortunately, the guidebook was ready before the new law came out, so i has still the word "Zoo" on the cover, and its name is" Führer", Hitler has forbidden to name zooguidebooks "Führer", all zooguidebooks had to be renamed into "Wegweiser" After the second world war, guidebooks could be renamed into"Führer"again.
